Both mental nursing diploma and degree-prepared nursing graduates are highly employable and work in numerous areas of health care including: long-term psychiatric facilities, sensitive care hospitals, infant and teenager programs, corrections, forensics laboratory, addiction services and society mental health. There are round about 540 clinical hours. Nursing students are clinically preceptored by qualified psychiatric or mental health clinical nurse specialists (CNS). Clinical experiences are easily accessible in outdoor patient clinics, society mental health centers, hospitals, schools, colleges and home care agencies. Full-time or part-time nursing students may enroll in the area of study. Current psychiatric nursing skill is powerfully encouraged.
Nursing graduates will be mentally prepared to take the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification nursing examination for specialized specialists in psychiatric-mental health nursing, after getting additional required post-master's clinical hours and administration. Upon certification, nursing graduates will be able to obtain dictatorial authority.
