Anesthesia care is provided by two specialty group of peoples in USA i.e. nurse anesthetists and anesthesiologists. Nurse anesthetists or qualified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNA) are certified professional nurses (RNs) who experience extensive training, become countrywide certified by exam after graduation and then supply best services similar to an anesthesiologist. CRNAs can be approved and practice in all fifty states. Anesthesiologists are skilled physicians who after medicinal school complete a 1 year internship in well known hospital or medical centers and a 3 year residency in anesthesia in famed health center. Prior to 1 July 1986, a two year residency was required. Following residency, they are considered board entitled in anesthesiology. Anesthesiologists have the alternative of becoming board specialized. However, physician board qualifications are becoming obligatory by many medicinal or credentialing centers in order to get or maintain staff privileges. As a whole, the nurse anesthesia profession is 'silent.' Very few nonmedical layman, nursing students, or professionals know of its survival. Usually, only medical professionals actively involved in surgical services are enthusiastically aware of nurse anesthesia activities.

Nurses were the first qualified professional group to give anesthesia services in the United States of America. Established in the late 1800s, nurse anesthesia has since become familiar as the first clinical nursing specialty. The authority of nurse anesthesia developed in response to requests of surgeons seeking a resolution to the high morbidity and mortality accredited to anesthesia at that time. Surgeons saw nurses as a cadre of experts who could give their complete attention to patient care during surgical procedures. Serving as pioneers in anesthesia, nurse anesthetists became concerned in the full range of area of expertise surgical procedures, as well as in the modification of anesthesia techniques and tackle and have sustained to the present.

This online school of Nursing is proud to present the first nurse anesthetist nursing program in the state. The online nursing program opened in response to a rising need for high quality certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) in the state of Oregon and Western U.S. Nursing students are enrolled full-time during this twenty seven month program. Upon nursing graduation, online nursing students will be conferred the master’s degree as well as be ready to productively pass the National Certification Examination conducted by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists to be decided all the rights and responsibilities of being a Nurse Anesthetist.

The Nurse Anesthesia nursing program is a 28 month graduate nursing course of study, recognized by The Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational nursing Programs. The 28-month program requires a least of 66 course credits hours, including foundation nursing courses and anesthesia specialty courses. The nursing program integrates nursing research, physiology, pharmacology, path physiology and anesthesia principles.
