Becoming a licensed practical nursing can be an excellent stepping stone for you to come into the nursing field. You can then precede your nursing career to become a registered nurse through LPN-to-RN and LPN-to-BSN program.
A LPN (licensed practical nurse) also known as LVN (licensed vocational nurse) provides essential bedside patient care under the direction of physicians and registered nurses (RN). An individual must pass the NCLEX-PN test, which is a state licensing examination, before working as a licensed vocational nurse (LVN). Licensed practical nurses (LPN) oversee the bedside care provided by nursing assistants. LVNs are also identified as registered practical nurses in Ontario, as enrolled nurses in Australia, and as state enrolled nurses in the United Kingdom.

There are, however, many online LPN to BSN programs, paramedic to LPN online programs, and even respiratory therapist to LPN online programs. They are presented by private, expensive degree colleges but they are also becoming increasingly admired because of the nursing deficiency and the anxious need for registered nurses (RN).
On the other hand, the waiting lists for LPN online schools are much shorter than those for conventional registered nurse programs. And there are "career colleges" which, while more luxurious and pricey than technical schools and vocational schools and community colleges, often have no waiting list at all. It is worth exploring those options, because one a nursing student becomes a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), it is much uncomplicated to find a bridge program which will give them their degree as an LPN to BSN program.

While jobs of LPNs (licensed practical nurse) in the conventional hospital and medical centers setting is likely to continue to decline, conversely, employment of New York LPNs in home health care facilities is predictable to grow at least averagely because of the growing number of aged and disabled medical patients in need of long-term care, also because of customer preference for care in the home, and scientific advances that make it probable to bring more and more complex treatments into the home. In addition, New York LPNs (licensed practical nurses) in nursing care services will be needed to care for the increasing figure of patients who have been discharged from the sanatorium but who have not improved enough. LPN’s are profoundly needed for their workloads at 40 hours a week, round-the-clock care on week nights, weekends, and holidays for the patients’ needs.
